This piece was done for a foundations drawing class taken at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The goal of this exercise was to replicate a work from an artist that inspires you. I decided to recreate a piece of concept art from the 1979 classic film, Alien created by the legendary H.R. Giger. Giger's unique biomechanical design language made this piece a real challenge to emulate. The industrial pipes and tubes were a departure from my comfort zone but at the end of the day this exercise was an excellent learning experience for me as an artist.
